MONTH

ACTIVITIES  PLANNED

Achievements

APRIL

       

·         Library orientation Sessions for all the classes. Specially for VI class students.

·          Preparation of Students’ Book Issue Cards.

·         Updation of the students’ database in the e-Granthalaya library  software.

·         Constitution of Library Committee.

·         Constitution of Reader’s Club.

·         Pustakophar week will be celebrated from April 1 to Apr 6, 2024. It is celebrated every year.  Under this, Students of almost each classes donate books to their junior ones.

·         Book Review Competition will be organized on 10th April,2024. Prize holders of the competition will be awarded on World Book Day’s special assembly.

·         Celebratrion of World Book Day (on 23rdApril).  Special morning Assembly will be organized dedicated to importance of Books.

Motivational Speech from any teacher on topic “Importance of Reading” will be organized.  Best Reader’s name will be declared on this special day.

MAY/JUNE      

·         Updation of Library Blog and make it useful for the students  and equip it with e-Resources and e-Learning material for Students’ summer reading.

·         Summer Reading Program will be designed and disseminate among the students for doing it during their summer break. It is as follows:-

       Class VI students will write five quotes on topic reading/ books/ Library.  Students will read newspaper daily and will write any five news headlines (for 10 days) on A4 size ruled sheet.

      Class VII students will write a bio sketch of any character from any book(colourful and with photographs related to topic).  Except it, they will write one article for the Library Magazine.  They can write any poem, story, joke, bio-sketch etc on A4 size sheet.

 

Class VIII students will write detailed information about any one state of India. They can include its culture, physical location, language spoken, folk dance etc.(colourful and with photographs related to topic)

JULY

     With the students.

5.  Technical processing of new books i.e. Accessioning, 

     Stamping, labeling, software entry etc. will be done.



           

 

SEPTEMBER

1.  Books  Exhibition of Hindi books can be organized under       Hindi Pakhwara. Renowned authors like Hazari Prasad Dwivedi, Harishankar Parsai, Suryakant Tripathi Nirala, Sumitranandan Pant, Harivansh rai Bachchan, Bhagwaticharan Verma, Fanishwarnath renu, devkinandan khatri, Jaishankar Prasad, Acharya Ramchandra Shukl, Makhanlal Chaturvedi, Shivmangal suman, Maithilisharan gupt, Mahadevi Verma, Premchand etc can be presented. 

An exhibition may be physical or virtual or both. 

  For virtual exhibition, images of their collection may be collected and composed into a small video to promote awareness about different authors and their works in hindi among students.  

  For physical exhibition, books will be displayed in the library so that students and staff of the vidyalaya can visit it.

 3.  Meeting of Library Committee.

 4.  Any topic related to any educational theme will be taken

      for discussion with the students.







OCTOBER        

         1.  Weekly library classes for all the grades.

    2.      Updating Library Blog - Important information, Statistics, Images of activities,  all will be updated.

  3.  To encourage reading, students will be asked to read any  

      book of their choice and send its book review.

4. Any topic related to any educational theme will be taken

     for discussion with the students.

5.  Meeting of Reader’s Club.

6.  Any educational activity will also be organized class-wise

     In which, all students of a section will participate.

 



NOVEMBER

1.  Weekly library classes for all the grades.

2.  Library Week will be organized from Nov 14 to Nov

     21, 2024.  The following activities may be organized

     under Library Week Celebration

Ø  Book Mark Competition

Ø  Reading together

Ø  Cover Page Designing

Ø  Inspirational Video shows

Ø  Story Telling

Ø  Exhibition of Library Projects

Ø  Fancy Dress Competition based on stories’ character

Assembly ProgramsMany programs like Poem Recitation, Speech, Quiz based on authors, interesting facts about books, magazine review, book review, role play will be presented in assembly during reading month celebration.

DECEMBER

      1.   Weekly library classes for all the grades.

      2.   Re- shelving of Books : Now, focus will be on the stacks in the library.  Old and obsolete books which  proposed for write off should be kept at backside of library in cupboards.  Other books should also re-shelved according to their subjects, classification should be corrected.

      3.   Re-Shelving of New Arrivals – After a long display under New Arrivals Section, the new books may be classified and shelved in their respective stacks.      

           4.   Meeting of Reader’s Club

 

JANUARY

1.  Weekly library classes for all the grades.

2. User Awareness Programme on exam oriented resources  

    available in the Library Blog

3.  3. List of Books which were to Propose for Condemnation

         will be prepared.

4.  Meeting of Library Committee.

5.  Any topic related to any educational theme will be taken

     for discussion with the students.

6.  Any educational activity will also be organized class-wise

     In which, all students of a section will participate.

  

FEBRUARY

1.  Weekly library classes for all the grades. 

2.  Showcasing of all the activities and projects made by  

     students this year

 3.  Counselling of students for stress management and for

      preparation of exam.

 4.  Meeting of Reader’s Club.
